Honda Rebel 250
11-24-2008
Yorba Linda, CA --Cobra Engineering announced today the release of its accessory lineup for the Honda 250 Rebel, one of the most successful and best selling motorcycles of all time. This product line gives Rebel riders a selection of premium bolt-on Cobra accessories to choose from when they customize their stock bikes, or if they simply want to enhance the functionality of this iconic machine.
"The Rebel has long been a popular bike among motorcyclists whether they are just starting out or are looking for a great package at an awesome price," said Tim McCool, Cobra Engineering President. It has remained virtually unchanged since the dawn of time, yet it has classic styling that is appealing today. We know our line of functional accessories will make this perennial winner an even more exciting package, especially among those entry-level and value-conscious riders."
Starting things off is a freeway bar that offers a bit of protection for the bike should there be an occasional, unintended low-speed miscue. The traditionally styled bar is a handy item in the case of an accidental tip-over or parking lot spill. The frame-mounted unit has been formed from 1 1/4-inch polished and chromed steel tube, and comes with all the hardware necessary for a flawless and easy installation. It mounts directly to the frame downtubes.
The new Cobra Light bar will make night riding a bit brighter and increase daytime conspicuity. Equipped with two spotlights, the chromed steel light bar uses special Cobra OEM-style turn signals that mount directly beneath the spotlights for that traditional style. The bar installs easily with a minimum of wiring connections required.
Cobra has also created two new sissy bars; the square bar option is available in the Standard, Short and Mini heights (the Short version is shown in the photos), while the round bar is available in the Standard and Short versions. All versions of the backrest enhance the creature comforts for passengers. The Sissy Bars also have two optional luggage racks, a formed steel option or a tube version. Sissy bars come with the backrest pad and side mounting plates for an OEM quality fit and finish, and the existing line of Cobra backrest inserts fit as well.
In addition there is also a stand-alone luggage rack. It is designed to work without the Cobra Sissy Bar, and does not use the Sissy Bar mounting brackets. It's formed from single piece of plate steel with laser cut outs. It also features a slight flair at its tail that matches the sweep of the stock rear fender. With the new saddlebag supports and bungee knobs also ready, the Rebel owner now has more than 25 new products from which to customize his bike.
"We're providing Rebel riders a well-designed selection of products to improve the functionality, comfort and style of their bike," said McCool. "And these items do just that. They allow riders the opportunity to make what is already a popular and timeless motorcycle just that much better."
